Hello, I have an issue with boot and disk detection on my Intel NUC.
I used to have a triple boot with Windows, Kali, and Manjaro, but the GRUB bootloader got corrupted, so I decided to reinstall everything from scratch. For that, I used DiskPart to completely wipe the C: drive. Since then, the BIOS does not recognize either the primary or secondary disk and only detects network boots (PXE) over Ethernet.
On startup, the message shown is:
Checking Media Presence
Media present
Boot PXE over IPv4
[after a while...]
Boot PXE over IPv6
Eventually, Windows boots normally, but the BIOS seems not to recognize the disks properly.
I have checked BIOS settings, including boot mode (UEFI/Legacy), and verified disk health with CrystalDiskInfo (image attached), which shows good health.
Has anyone experienced a similar problem or knows how to get the BIOS to properly detect the disks?
Thanks in advance.

Thank you for posting in the Community regarding the boot and disk detection issue you're experiencing with your Intel NUC. I understand how concerning it can be when your system doesn't recognize the disks properly, and I'm here to assist you in resolving this matter.
To help us diagnose the issue more effectively, could you please provide the following information:
- Knowing the specific model of your Intel NUC will help us identify any compatibility issues or known problems that might be affecting your system.
- Could you confirm the current BIOS version installed on your NUC? This information can help us determine if an update might be necessary.
- Have you tried reconfiguring the disk settings in the BIOS, such as changing the boot order or ensuring the disks are set to AHCI mode?
- Besides checking the BIOS settings and verifying disk health, have you tried any other troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue?
- SSU log will give us detailed information about your system configuration and help us identify any potential issues. You can download the Intel System Support Utility (SSU) here. Please follow these instructions to generate and submit the SSU log:

Hi Dean,
Thanks a lot for your response.
Intel NUC model: NUC8i3BEH
BIOS version: Intel Corp. BECFL357.86A.0089.2021.0621.1343, 21/06/2021
I’ve checked the BIOS settings. The boot order is correct and the disk is set as the first boot device. The SATA mode is set to AHCI.
Before reinstalling Windows, I used DiskPart to clean the C: drive. Then I reinstalled Windows normally. The system boots, but the BIOS still shows PXE boot first and doesn’t list the internal drives. I also checked the disk health with CrystalDiskInfo and everything looks good (SMART values OK).
I’ve run the Intel SSU tool and attached the report as requested. Please let me know if anything stands out.
As for remote assistance, I prefer to continue through the forum.
Thanks again for your help!

In the BIOS | BOOT Priority settings, is Boot Network Devices Last selected (checkmarked)? [It should be]
Also in the BIOS | BOOT Priority settings, is Network Boot set to Disabled? [It should be]
Hope this helps,
