Can not recognize sata ssd in RST mode

I am trying to install an additional M.2 ssd in Lenovo ideapad 720s15IKB. I got a WD blue 500g sata ssd. But after intall the drive, there is no where on the system can find it. Not in the device management, not even in bios. I found the bios is default in intel RST mode instead of AHCI, is this the reason not detecting the drive. I saw some other user with the same laptop are able to install a nvme drive. I don't wanna bother reinstall the system, I am wondering the problem, if the problem is caused by "SATA drive", I will switch to a nvme.

We would like to check first which product you are using. Can you please confirm if you are using Intel® Rapid Storage Technology or Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (Enterprise)
