How to use Intel parallel XE composer with VS code

Dear there,

I have the new version of Intel parallel XE composer (C and Fortran) and need to use it for the compiling of programs. The VS code executive was also downloaded. However, I did not find any information about how to integrate the Intel elements into VS code. Could you please help me out? Many thanks.

Hi alex1605,

Thanks for letting us know about your concern. Please know, Visual Studio Code is not a supported IDE for Intel® Parallel Studio XE. You may try using the Visual Studio Community Edition (or Professional or Enterprise Edition).

Link: https://visualstudio.microsoft.com/

Do let us know if there are any concerns regarding its integration. You may visit the below link to find and choose the compatible versions to use with your Intel® Parallel Studio suite.

Link: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/developer/articles/reference-implementation/intel-compilers-compatibility-with-microsoft-visual-studio-and-xcode.html

Make sure that Visual Studio is repaired first with appropriate component selection and the Intel® Parallel Studio is repaired secondly.

Note: For Intel® Compilers for Windows*, it is necessary to install the 'Desktop development with C++' component from Visual Studio. This component is not installed by default. The Intel® Parallel Studio XE installation will detect the missing component and provide a warning, but the installation can still proceed. Make sure the Visual Studio is repaired with this component.

Have a nice day ahead.

Regards,

Soumya

The following article describes the process and how to submit a ticket:

If you encounter any problems with the access or registration, please let me know, otherwise I will proceed to close this thread on October 14th.

Hello, alex1605.

To answer your question, this community section in particular is used to provide support for Intel Virtual RAID on CPU (VROC), if you had an issue or question regarding this product, I would be more than happy to help you, but since that is not the case, and since I'm also not familiar with the product you need assistance with, I must route your inquiry to the appropriate support area, that being the online service request.

I have also been checking other community sections for similar questions, so you might want to check those too, but as I mentioned, Intel support for this provided via the service request portal.

Software community section: https://community.intel.com/t5/Software/ct-p/software-products

Intel developer zone: https://software.intel.com/content/www/us/en/develop/home.html

The ticket 05239292 has been created, one of my colleagues will contact you back via e-mail regarding your inquiry, and this community thread will be closed right now.

Best regards,
