Is there a way to collect SMART information for NVMe that has RAID configured with VROC?
I would like to know when to replace the NVMe drive.
Thank you.

Piggybacking on this question because it is related. Is there a tool that can update Optane drive firmware when configured in VROC?
I was surprised to see that I can indeed update 800P firmware when in Optane acceleration mode through Intel's firmware tool, but it can't see into my VROC array.

Hello Cla777,
Thank you for contacting Intel® Memory and Storage support.
As we understand, you need assistance with your Intel® Virtual RAID on CPU (Intel® VROC). If we inferred correctly, please review and provide us with the following information:
1- We advise you to contact your Motherboard OEM (original equipment manufacturer) to get further assistance regarding your Intel® VROC configuration and compatible SSD.
Please consider that the OEM creates and modifies their solutions to fit their needs, and they have their list of compatible hardware and software that sometimes is different from our list. For example, there are cases that some of the systems need a specific BIOS or software configuration to be able to work with an OS, add-on hardware, or feature.
2- Provide us with the logs from our RAID solutions like RST/RSTe/VROC follow the System Reports for Intel® Rapid Storage Technology article:
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000006351/technologies.html
3- We would appreciate it if you can provide us with the system details by extracting the SSU logs and the replication steps.
The SSU logs.
• Go to https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/ (for Windows*) and to https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26735/ (for Linux) download the software.
• When you finish downloading it, open it.
• Attach the file generated by the tool in your reply.
4- To answer your questions:
it depends a lot on the OEM compatibility and if the drives are connected or not directly to the board. If you have Intel® SSD's you need to use the:
Intel® Memory and Storage Tool (GUI)
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/30161/Intel-Memory-and-Storage-Tool-GUI-
Or the:
Intel® Memory and Storage Tool CLI (Command-Line Interface) https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/30162?v=t
To check the SSD life remaining or to update your SSD firmware if they are recognized as shown in the following screenshots:
- If you have third-party SSDs on your VROC configuration, please contact the SSD manufacturer to check if their tool is compatible with VROC.
-To answer BHarr8 question:
The Intel® Optane™ SSD 800P Series is not a supported SSD, and we do not recommend using it with VROC.
Based on the Intel® Virtual RAID on CPU (Intel® VROC) Supported Configurations article:
The supporter NVMe SSDs are the following:
