VROC with 760p x4

I have the following hardwares but I cannot install Windows10 x64 on VROC volume:

ASUS Rampage VI extreme ( or ASUS PRIME-X299 Deluxe)

Core-i9 7980XE

Hyper m.2 x16

4x Intel 760p

I try to make VROC volume using 4x 760p.

On the bios, I could make VROC volume (RAID0, VROC is pass-thru mode)

But I tried to install Windows x64 with VROC F6 drivers, I cannot seen VROC volume.

For the same situation, 4x 600p, I could install Windows10 x64 on VROC volume.

600p is PCIe 3.0 x4 and 760p is PCIe 3.1 x4,

800p (optane) is PCIe3.0 x2 so running on VROC because of PCIe 3.0..???

VROC is not support for PCIe3.1 NVMe ??

Hello,

Now I installed no Key but I can make bootable RAID0 volume using 2x 600p.

Now I installed 3x600p + 1x760p on HYPER m.2 x16 but IRSTe shows 3x600p ONLY.

760p is not supported for VROC ??

Thanks for the information provided. Please take into account that you will need to obtain the VROCISSDMOD key in order to enable the RAID License. Also, we would like you to know that we are investigating this situation and will get back to you soon.

At past I tried make 760p volume (RAID0) with VROCISSDMOD, unfortunately 760p volume cannot find on Windows. (We can make and see it on UEFI-BIOS).

Now I tried again but I got same result.

I installed 2x 600p and 2x 760p with VROCISSDMOD.

I have 2 volume, one is 453.1GB for 2x 600p, other is 906.2GB for 2x 760p.

This is the detail of Volume0 for 2x 600p. Slot number is assigned sequence for both 600p.

This is the detail of Volume1 for 2x 760p. I cannot understand why slot number is always 65535 for both 760p.

Then I started Windows10 and see IRSTe.

Unfortunately I can find 2x 600p and Volume0 ONLY.... "キーバージョンのアップグレード:インテル SSDのみ" is meant installing VROCISSDMOD.

I cannot find 2x 760p and Volume1.....

Currently I understand VROC is not supported 760p (PCIe 3.1 ??), 600p is supported (PCIe 3.0).

Cannot we use 760p on VROC !?!?!?

Over few days, I cannot find how to solve VRC and 760p RAID, so I made other test.

R6E

2x 760p on DIMM.2 slot (DIMM2_1 and DIMM_2)

(No HYPER M.2 x16 card)

I was set up on UEFI-BIOS @R6E:

Enable VROC on DIMM.2 card

I can find 2x 760p on VMD controller.

I made RAID0 volume with 2x 760p

I already installed VROCISSDMOD (Intel-SSD-Only) VROC Key.

Then I started Windows10:

Unfortunately I still cannot find RAID0 volume and 2x 760p on VROC.

So this issue is not depend on HYPER M.2 x16 card but Intel VMD.

Intel needs to fix the issue for VMD ASAP. (Or is this standard specification for VROC ??)

Best regards, Nakamura

I find very interesting YouTure for 760p on VROC:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sYzByvkzGi4&feature=youtu.be&a Intel 760p NVME 1TB x4 VROC CPU Raid0 Review 4TB - YouTube

1TB 760p is supported on VROC ?? Why 512GB is not running on VROC ??

This is very very strange issue.

Sorry my description is incorrect:

Fault:

800p (optane) is PCIe3.0 x2 so running on VROC because of PCIe 3.0..???

VROC is not support for PCIe3.1 NVMe ??

Correct:

800p (optane) is running on VROC because of NVMe 3.0..???

VROC is not support for NVMe3.1 ??

Hello,

We were investigating and according to our engineers, it seems that only professional and data center SSDs are compatible with VROC and the 760p is a consumer SSD.

Please let us know if you have any additional question. We will be glad to assist you.

Hello, Thank you for your reply,

Why 600p is ok but 760p is not good ?

600p is also consumer SSD, is this incorrect ?

Hello,

This time we would like to recommend you that Intel VROC is only compatible with professional & Data center Intel SSDs. You can access the ARK website https://ark.intel.com/# @ProfessionalSSDs for more information about our professional and datacenter SSDs.

Sorry I will send same question,

I understand 760p is not joined professional series.

Is 600p joined professional series ?

Why 600p is enable on VROC ?

Hello,

At this time the only recommendation that we can provide to the you is to use Professional or Data Center SSD's with VROC. As you mentioned before, 760p and 600p are consumer SSD's that are not compatible and most likely will not perform as expected.

Dear support,

Thank you for your reply,

I heard same answer few times so I want to close this issue.

Finally I can understand as follow:

760p is not supported VROC because 760p is consumer product.

600p is also consumer product but VROC is running.

I cannot find why 600p (= also consumer product) is running on VROC

but

760p is consumer product so VROC is not supported.

This is final. Thanks.

Intel is really burning their customers with this issue - why all the confusion and delays? Tell us straight up what is the situtation. But I know - the longer this drags, the more people will buy SSD's that are not compatible - good boost for sales. I personally spent a lot of money first buying Samsung 970 SSD's, which did not work, and next 4 x Intel 760P SSD's which also did not work.

Frankly, I am pissing nails mad about the convoluted replies given by Intel on this forum. I will personally never buy another Intel product ever again if this is the way they are going to treat customers. Why do enthusiasts have to pay 229$ to get a freakin key (Mouser) after we already spent a fortune buying your sub-perfomance SSD's? This is like milking the cash cow twice and thrice and four times over. And then, on top of it all tell me the Intel 760P drives aren't supported?

Intel, once and for all come clear on this and treat your customers with respect!

My next system will be AMD, for sure!

Hey guys has this been solved? and am I right In saying I can add the ASUS HYPER M.2 x16 PCIe VROC RAID Card for to my Asus X299 deluxe with skylake x 7800x cpu and two

256GB Intel SSD 760p Series, M.2 (2280) PCIe 3.1 and I will get Raid 0 without an intel vroc key
