I removed the SSD from my old Dell 5050 - it has OS and other files on it. I want to remove the OS and keep the other files so I can use it in new Dell 5070 as second drive. What is the best way to achieve this? Thanks in advance for your help.

Save the files to a temp drive, format the ssd, restore the files to the ssd.

Al is correct; there is really no way to easily get rid of all of the system files except through reformatting. You would need to work your way through the files changing ownership so they can all be deleted; just not worth the time.
