160 GB G2 - Toolbox v1.2 problem - Win XP - doesn't work

Hello

In German look down, here in english (I try it...)

I have a X-25M G2 160 GB in my notebook. The newest firmware is ok and also the newest intel toolbox is installed on win XP.

If I start the toolbox -> "Intel SSD Management Tool" -> SSD optimize --> I always have the same error message.

(please see the attachement with the error message)

I have no backup task or something like that. I also tried to stopp all tasks (processes), but the error message don't disappear.

What can I do?

Regards

Hallo

Hello, I Think the Problem is NOT fixed.

Maybe it is fixed for XP-32, but NOT for XP-64.

In the CMD-Prompt i can not change the Codepage in the Standard-Values of the Titlebar.

The Hotfix from MS is already installed.

But what we can say is, that it is a Problem of different Language-Versions of Windows. Since Win2000 i thought i will never more tangent the Codepage-Problem. Great work from Worlds-Greatest-Chip-Manufactor!

PS: with Toolbox 1.0 it was not necessary to install the MS Hotfix for XP-64.

So i hope there is an solution avaiable für XP-64. Bye

rad999 - I tried your idea and it works on XP64. In case it helps others:-

1 - disable restore for all SSD drives (because the TRIM function was reportedly breaking System Restore)

2 - Use toolbox V1.1 with the latest SSD firmware

3 - It is then possible to schedule TRIM to run automatically.

I don't use System Restore anyway - if Windoze gets that broken I use the excuse to format c: & start again

el-mujo - I agree, Toolbox V1.2 is still no good for XP64

The only solution to this problem is to upgrade to Windows 7.

The solution I used on XP64Pro was toolkit V1.1. Whether or not it affects System restore I don't know as I turn off system restore for all drives.
