600p driver For windows 7 Preinstall

I have been struggling for 3 days to install windows 7 on to a new Intel 60oP M.2 drive.

All the NVMe drivers that I have been sent or found do not recognise the drive

I have tried slip streaming and loading the drivers during install and they all fail to find the drive

I have tried MS standard NVMe express drivers as per this page https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/kb/2990941 https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/kb/2990941 which is also failing

To test that the SSD is in fact working in the board I installed windows 10 pro successfully and updated and surfed the net fine

So I need to find a proper driver.

Thanks

Hello Dendrit,

We have tested our step by step document with several setups and it has worked just fine. Could you please confirm if you followed all the instructions in our http://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/solid-state-drives/Intel_6_Series_PCIeNVMe_... document? We know the drive works fine in Windows* 7,unfortunately it is a limitation of the operating system that we need to follow all those steps in order to make it work, something that does not happen with Windows* 8.1 & Windows® 10, as these two operating system come with native NVMe* driver.Hope you can setup the drive, if you have not returned it already.Regards,NC

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but i recently bought the same SSD and, despite following every step of the support document, it doesn't work

If i use the original boot.wim and setup.exe from the windows 7 ISO/USB key it won't detect the SSD

If i use the Win10 boot.wim and setup.exe, it just won't boot with the following error:

what could have gone wrong? or is there a specific requirement for the Win10 boot.wim and setup.exe?

mine is from the Anniversary Update ISO

Hello Momomok,

We understand you are unable to install Windows* 7 on the SSD 600p due to an error on the setup or disk not detected. We would like to know if you follow the two methods (step by step) from the http://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/solid-state-drives/Intel_6_Series_PCIeNVMe_... document available, or did you only follow method 1?

Besides that, could you please share your computer's specs?

We'll be waiting for this information.

Hello

We just purchased the intel SSD 600p m2 and no drivers seems to work. The disc is detected in BIOS but once we boot up in windows 7 it doesnt show up.

In device manager it shows as "PCI Device". I tried all the drivers from Dell as well as most of the drivers from Intel.

I will try the hotfix from Microsoft but what else can I do? Im not trying to install windows 7 on it, just use it as storage, secondary drive.

Hi RJettingstad,

The Intel® SSD 600p Series uses the native NVMe* driver from the operating system. Since Windows* 7 does not come with this driver, a Microsoft* hotfix is required (To use it as storage), please go ahead and try it from https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2990941/update-to-add-native-driver-support-in-nvm-express-... this link.Let us know if this worked fine.Regards,Nestor C
