I want to install a Intel SSD Pro 2500 series 360GB in a Dell Precision M6500M but the Bios version A10 don't recognises the disk.

Is it possible that i have to do some updates to the SSD itself ?

I have purchased the SSD in the Dell shop as a compatible device, so it should be compatble with de Dell M6500. Even after installing diferent BIOS updates it is still not recognized....

Hi Bosser,

You mentioned that the SSD worked with the USB enclosure in a different computer, right? That means the drive is fine, besides when it comes to a SATA drive, there are not much settings to change to make it work.If you can test the drive as external or in a different computer again, please let us know if it is detected, if not, then it will be necessary to get in touch with our support department in this http://intelsupportchat.force.com/icslivechat/ics_tech_ssd_ww_english_Chat linkLet us know please.Regards,NC

Hi,

I had the possibility to enter de SSD in a Dell Inspiron R17, and de SSD was directly recognized en windows was booting. So it is certain that the SSD is functioning but the Dell Precision don't recognises the SSD.... I wonder if there is a diference in pins in the 2,5" doc ? Should i contact dell again ?

Dell stated that the Precision M6500 is not compatible with SSD but when i see this video i have questions : Dell Precision M6500 Pentium I7 extreme CPU & Sandisk disk ultra II SSD 480GB & 8GB RAM & Win 10 - YouTube : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jA5sB6BeFrM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jA5sB6BeFrM

In the video it is a Sandisk ultra II 480 GB ... is there a difference between the Sandisk Ultra II SSD and the Intel SSD Pro 2500 Series ?
