Hi,

i'm going to install a X25-M G2 as OS disk.

1. Should I set AHCI in bios or keep the IDE mode???

2. Whats the BEST alignment for the Intel SSD under XP?

3. Should I update to the lates firmware and what about trimm under xp? does it happen automatically or do I have to do something special?

and last..

4. what about the Intel Rapid Storage-Technologie driver? do I need them? and if yes.. how to handle that?

many thanx!

Win XP does not support Trim so you need the help of SSD toolbox to support trim , it is a software available on intel website

http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=18455&lang=eng http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=18455&lang=eng

it is always recommended to use latest firmware, i think the latest version is 02HD, check it out on Intel website

hi, so should I use AHCI or not?

if not I don't need rapid storage technology....

whats better... ahci or no ahci... I can't decide...

latest FW - OK !

manual Trim - OK !

and how about alignment???

thx
