Do Intel SSD drives have appropriate Arm64 tooling to allow us to do an in-place firmware upgrade?

We use these drives (Intel Part Number: SSDSC2BB012T701 - 1.2 TB SATA SSD, and SSDPE2KE016T7 - 1.6 TB 2.5 NVMe SSD) in our Arm64 Server (Lenovo HR350A). Wondering if Intel drives have appropriate Arm64 tooling to allow us to do an in-place firmware upgrade? We would like to avoid physically pulling drives and attaching them to an x86 system to upgrade the firmware.  Basically do you have a firmware upgrade tool for the Arm64 Servers?

Thanks

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Hello TNguy230,

Thank you for your patience.

We were reviewing some documentation related to your system (https://amperecomputing.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Lenovo_ThinkSystem_HR350A_20190118.pdf) according to your OEM (original equipment manufacturer) one of the operating systems (OS) that are supported by your server is “CentOS 7.5”.

The only tool available to update the firmware for Data Center drives is the “Intel® SSD Data Center Tool” (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28999/Intel-SSD-Data-Center-Tool-Intel-SSD-DCT-?product=87...) and the compatible listed versions of “CentOS are 7.4 and 7.2”.

This been said we cannot assure you that this tool will run as expected in your system, please feel free to try to install this software and to check if it works in the version of the OS that you have installed in your Lenovo server and if it works to try to update the SSD firmware.

We advise you to consult your OEM Lenovo* regarding the compatibility of this drive with your server system.

We will be looking forward to your reply letting us know the results.

Best regards,
