I had some recent problems with my 2 year old Predator 17 Laptop G9-791 where there was a yellow exclamation mark in my windows defender saying the TPM needed cleared and I ended up having to reset the whole thing 3 days ago and all looked good and the message was gone. Yesterday I noted that there were several updates for Thunderbolt showing in my Acer Care center and I allowed it to update and next thing I can see is the message is back asking me to clear my TPM. I know now that its not my hard drive or motherboard as it was working very well until this update. What can I do to remedy this terrible situation and I really do not want to have to reset my laptop again as I already had much downloading of stuff on the days following my recent reset. Can anyone help?
Thank you for contacting Intel® Customer Support.
I understand you are experiencing a reiterative "Clear TPM" message.
The issue you describe is out of the scope of this SSD's technical support team, first, because you mention that your hard drive works as expected, and second, the details you shared lead to think that the issue should be handled by either the OS technical support team (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/contactus/ https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/contactus/) or the laptop's manufacturer technical support team (https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/service-contact https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/service-contact).
Either way, I found some links with information that may provide further guidence:
