Guide: how to easily update your Intel SSD firmware from USB flash drive

All the top google searches link to needlessly complicated methods. Let's try to fix that.

(This is how I did it with Windows 7 and a 320 series SSD)

  1. Download YUMI: http://www.pendrivelinux.com/yumi-multiboot-usb-creator/ http://www.pendrivelinux.com/yumi-multiboot-usb-creator/
  2. In Step 1 select your USB flash drive.
  3. In Step 2 select "Try an Unlisted ISO"
  4. In Step 3 browse your firmware update .iso
  5. Click on Create.
  6. Done. Enjoy.

Well, that wasn't so hard, was it?

Thank you for this post.

However after following the staight forward procedure to the letter, I do get a bootable usb stick, but the ISO will not load/execute.

All I get is Grub>

From there you should be able to boot into any of the ISOs you put on the usb flash drive.
