I'm the owner of a genuine Intel S3700 800GB SSD (INTEL SSDSC2BA800G3) and I'm very happy with it.
Now I got my hands on a HP branded S3700 800GB SSD (MK0800GCTZB). The issue I have is that for the HP branded one Intel SSD Toolbox does NOT report SMART E1 (Host writes), nor E9 (Media Wearout Indicator), nor F1 (Total LBAs Written).
Could somebody perhaps explain why these values are missing?
I found this thread /message/236417 https://communities.intel.com/message/236417 and want to second that I would really appreciate if it would be possible to load a genuine Intel firmware on OEM branded SSDs.
I also noticed this when I tried a HP-branded SSD a year ago. I immediately returned it for the same reason, and instead bought a fully Intel branded one.
Presumably Intel's reponse will be "talk to HP."
We understand that you're having issues with an HP* rebranded Intel® SSD DC S3700 Series.
Please keep in mind that while this would be an odd thing to do, it's perfectly within the realm of possibility for HP* to have chosen this behavior on purpose.
K2 is not wrong, most of our recommendations do have to be along the lines of "contact the OEM." But there are two main things you could try that may hopefully be more helpful:

Hi Carlos and K2,
thank you very much for your replies.
Ah, it's always fun, if a big company splits itself up and HP is getting HPE. Thank you very much for the link, I was able to find a (much) newer firmware. I contacted HPE in their forum and am waiting for an update regarding the missing values.
Thank you also for the Intel SSD Data Center Tool, will try that and report back.
I already learned, better buy Intel retail products in the first place.
We usually recommend purchasing OEM drivers only as replacements to the same, generally when suggested by the system manufacturer. Other than that, retail is the way to go in order to receive full functionality, warranty, and support.
