How do you get to 8850 from 8820?

so I have 8820 on my first generation X-25M 160 GB but when I upgrade using the recent firmware 8850 it tells me I'm already up to date with 8820.

8850 is only intended for X-25E series. 8820 is the most current firmware for X-25M G1
