I trying to start trim via commant line SSD toolbox -trim

Hello,

I tryed to trim via commandline with "Intel SSD Toolbox.exe" -trim but I think it dosn't start.

If I start via commant line I will get back the Reult code: 73. And when I start the GUI I see the Last Run time fo Intel SSD Optimizer is older then time Istarted trim via commandline.

How can I find more about commandline and the Resultcode?

I using windows XP Professional SP3.

Thank you

Hi Alexander,

I cannot find any information on using command line options with the SSD Toolbox. As you know, it can work and you see all the options that were printed when you tried to run TRIM.

What happened is, TRIM was not run on your SSD. Your command line was not correct. Here is an example of one way to run TRIM on a SSD from the command line:

"C:\Program Files\Intel\Intel® Solid-State Drive Toolbox\Intel SSD Toolbox.exe" -t C

In this command line, -t means TRIM, 'C' is the Windows drive letter of the SSD, and then the serial number of the SSD. Another example of this:

"C:\Program Files\Intel\Intel® Solid-State Drive Toolbox\Intel SSD Toolbox.exe" -t C CVCV12345678X180EGN

That style is really better for a batch file.

The interactive mode works like this:

Notice in your screen shot the option "-drive_list" That will show and identify the drives the Toolbox sees.

"-drive_index X" selects a SSD from the list given in -drive_list. Once a Intel SSD is selected, you can then just run -trim.

You will need to read the command shown with the -help option, and experiment with them to do what you want to do. Sorry, but that is the most I can tell you.

Hello Parsec,

I tryed trim with serial number but the same result.

I typed fellow:

"Intel SSD Toolbox.exe" -drive_list

C:\Program Files\Intel\Intel(R) Solid-State Drive Toolbox>

Welcome to the Intel SSD Toolbox

0 C INTEL SSDSC2BW180A3L CVCV215200WJ180EGN LE1i

Result: 0

Program exited. Command prompt hidden. Press enter to redisplay prompt

So I typed "Intel SSD Toolbox.exe" -t C CVCV215200WJ180EGN

and the result ist the same like befor. with the result code 73

Also if I try to select a SSD (-drive_index 0, or -drive_index [something else from Drive_list]

I hope you can show me my mistake.

Thank you very much for you amsware.

Please try the commands at DOS command prompt with admin rights:

"intel ssd toolbox.exe" –drive_index

This will give the index number; so assume it is 0

"intel ssd toolbox.exe" –drive_index 0 –trim

This will run trim on the drive 0

"intel ssd toolbox.exe" –drive_index 0 –smart

This will display the smart attributes for drive 0

Result: 73 means invalid arguments

Hello Jim,

Thank you for you Answare.

Intel ssd toolbox.exe -drive_index dosn't work. I get a resultcode 73

But

"Intel ssd toolbox.exe" -drive_index 0 -trim works.

Well i am happy with this.

Alexander
