INTEL 330 SSD COMPATABILITY WITH SATA 1.5?

Hello all --------

Will the Intel 330 6.0 sata work with a mama board that is only a sata 1.5? It is an older board. thanks

Yes, the 330 series drives are backwards compatible with SATA I, Aka SATA 1.5Gbit/s. There are a couple of threads here and in other forums where people are describing a links speed negotiation bug when connected to the older Nvidia MCP79 chipset (that should connect as SATA II / 3Gbit/s, but instead connects at SATA I / 1.5Gbit/s). That bug is not relevant to you, but it proves that the drive can operate at 1.5Gbit/s

Does not work with my KX18DS-ProII(nforce2 SPP + nforce2 MCP RAID), 320 SSD works fine however(2x RAID0), Vertex3 does not work also, so it is probably SandForce controller issue.

Also does not work in FS Amilo a1667g/a3667g (VIA K8T890 + VT8237R) cause of the bug in VT8237R, probably can be replaced with VT8237R Plus, which fixes SATA negotiation bug.
