Hello everyone,,
I installed 520 SSD on my SONY s series laptop which has Intel core i5 2430M cpu and Windows 7 x64, it works fine apart from 60 seconds system freezes once or twice a day. currently I am using mobile chipset SATA AHCI controller. is it gonna help if I change it to RAID controller ? or does anyone know how to fix this issue?
millions of thanks

Try disabling write caching. This is a trick on older SSD's to fix freezing or stuttering ( e.g., I personally use CORSAIR SSD's). There's nothing to lose so give it a shot and then reboot.
thanks for advice. I did as you said. hope this will solve the issue.
tried disabling write caching, but no luck. still freezes
Sorry to hear that. What OS are you using? Win XP, Win 7, Linux or Mac OSX? You never want to DEFRAG these hard drives do make sure you have this service disabled. Follow the steps in the guide here:

Hello lionel,
I am sorry to know about the issue you have.
We recommend using the Intel® SSD 520 in the Intel® SATA controller in AHCI mode (not RAID).
Please use the Intel® SSD Toolbox in order to optimize and test your drive:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=18455 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=18455
Just to verify that your Intel® SSD is properly detected by your SATA controller you may open Device Manager (Control Panel), expand Disk drives, double click the Intel® SSD listed, in the properties window go to the last tab, Details, then choose Hardware Ids in the dropdown, the value should start with IDE\… in the first lines.
You may also want to try using the latest BIOS and latest chipset driver.
In case the issue persists you may perform a secure erase or low level format, otherwise contact your local Intel® support team:
