Intel SSD 330 240 GB won't be recognized by Gigabyte GA-X79-UP4

Hello,

has anyone made the experience to setup a new desktop with a mainboard of Gigabyte GA-X79-UP4 and a SSD 330 by intel?

The BIOS can find it on the specific SATA port and runs it over the Marvell bridge and that is in AHCI mode.

At the first time I could install the operating system (W7) but after activating the 2nd HDD on a neighboured SATA port it wasn't able to start anymore.

So I tried to re-install it but when windows setup is looking for drives nothing is recognized. When I manually load the driver of the Marvell bridge nothing is detected either. The same goes when loading the X79 6G Sata driver.

Any idea is welcome.

looks like this is board related issue, have you checked with Gigabyte?

Hello Abo, I suggest you to use the SATA port 0 or 1, try different cables and also if possible initialize and format the Solid State Drive in a different system then try to install the operating system again, you might want to run a full diagnostic in a different system (Solid State Drive needs to be connected via SATA) using the toolbox, you can download the toolbox from the following link: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=18455 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=18455
