Intel SSD 530 on Storage Manager option ROM 8.9.5.1001 PCH-M

Our Dell M6500 with Intel Storage Manager option ROM 8.9.5.1001 PCH-M woun´t recognize an Intel SSD 530 Series 120 GB. It is a model SSDSC2BW120A4.

Is there a compatibility problem with this setup or is it supposed to work?

Such option ROM version appears to be old. It may help to update your system BIOS.

Is it possible to identify the SATA controller model? You may type "dxdiag" in Windows*'s Start menu or Run and then click on "Save All Information". The information will appear under "System Devices" in the saved report.

It is also a good idea to check if your system manufacturer has a list of validated SSD models.

Just to make sure the drive is not defective; did you test it in a different computer?

Yes.

It is two drives and both works in a stationary computer from the same brand. That computer is older than the laptop the drives are not working in.
