Jump to solution

Computer: HP EliteDesk 800 G2 DM 65W.

SSD: Intel Prod code SSDSCKKW256G8X1

Bios version: N21 Ver. 2.33 3/29/2018 (latest)

SSD : 545S serie type M.2

The bios is not recognizing the SSD, I have two of the same computers and on both they are not recognized. What can I do to recognize them.

Hello ferdinand1968,

Thanks for posting in our communities. We understand that you have two HP* systems that are not recognizing https://ark.intel.com/products/125021/Intel-SSD-545s-Series-256GB-M_2-80mm-SATA-6Gbs-3D2-TLC Intel® SSD 545s Series (256GB, M.2).

Checking the system specifications, it seems the M.2 on the system is for PCIe based WLAN adapters and PCIe M.2 SSDs (Page 2, Expansion slots):

- http://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/GetDocument.aspx?docname=4AA6-1435ENUC HP EliteDesk 800 65W G2

The Intel SSD 545s is a SATA based SSD, even if it has the same form factor (M.2), it won't be recognized as the slot only works with PCIe based devices. We recommend to use a PCIe M.2 drive or https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp/product/hp-elitedesk-800-65w-g2-desktop-mini-pc/8741496 contact HP* for alternatives.
