Intel SSD DC S3700 SED-is there a way to remove self encryption feature or decrypt SED?.. The self encryption feature is preventing us from doing a firmware based secured erase after decomissioning the the hardware. HPDL380 G8

Hello JulioJ,

We understand you need to remove the SED in order to perform a firmware based secure erase. Could you share a screenshot of this situation?Do you have an actual error message? There is no way to remove the feature since this is done at the drive level and it basically helps to prevent unwanted intrusion and secure the drive.Regards,NC

Hello JulioJ,

After reviewing the case, we can only suggest to try to run secure erase using HDparm in Linux:hdparm --user-master master --security-set-pass password /dev/sdXhdparm --user-master master --security-erase password /dev/sdXhdparm -Np468862128 /dev/sdXHere is a http://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/white-papers/ssd-server-storage-applicat... link with more information about it.Let us know if this helps.Regards,NC
