New Intel 750 owner questions.

Just got my new Intel 750 PCIE 400GB SSD. And I just had a few questions about it. Performance is fine. However I've noticed a few quirks. First being when ever I plug in a USB drive into my PC the Intel SSD Toobox will report it as another Intel 750 SSD. My second question. Is it normal for me not to be able to install Intel RST? when using an NVME drive. I keep getting a "platform not supported error".

My system specs are

Asus Sabertooth X99

Intel Core i7 5930k

16 GBS of DDR4 RAM @ 2666mhz Corsair

EVGA GTX 980

Corsair RM750X PSU

Intel 750 400GB AIC

Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit

Answering to your questions:

We are not quite sure if we understand your first question, but please know that the Intel® SSD 750 Series are not designed for USB connections, however, if you connect an standard Intel® SSD via USB, the Intel® SSD Toolbox may not detect it as an Intel® drive.

As for Intel® RST, it is possible only on newer chipsets such as: http://ark.intel.com/products/90591/Intel-GL82Z170-PCH Intelhttp://ark.intel.com/products/90591/Intel-GL82Z170-PCH ® Z170 Chipset - and also only with the newer Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (Intel® RST) found in this link: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25165/Intel-Rapid-Storage-Technology-Intel-RST-RAID-Driver Download Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (Intel® RST) RAID Driver. Since the system must be able to map a PCI-e* - NVMe* drive to the chipset and not to the CPU. We recommend to contact the motherboard manufacturer in order to confirm if your system supports this feature.

I have my Intel 750 installed properly into a PCIE 3.0 Slot. However the SSD Toolbox is reporting my USB thumb drives as another Intel 750 instead of reporting it as a USB thumb drive. Not sure how else I can word this. I did notice that If i uninstalled the Intel 750 driver the SSD Toolbox would then report my USB drives as USB drives and not as another Intel 750.

If you look at my screen shot. You'll see what I am talking about. The Intel 750 with the partition letter "C" attached it is the real Intel 750 drive. The Intel 750 with no drive letter attached is the USB thumb drive that is incorrectly being reported as an Intel 750 even though its is just a thumb drive.

Its been about a week and still no response. I am going to chalk this up to maybe a bug with Intel SSD Toolbox or the Intel Nvme driver.
