Optimizing 540s with Toolbox ver. 3.3.5 stops after 5% with message "Error: RAID array detected, if RAID array not present, reboot and try again". Reboot doesn´t help. The SSD drive is the only HD so no RAID possible.. Windows XP Professional SP 3. SSD Firmware LSBG200.

Hello Amingu,

We understand you are receiving an error with the Intel® Solid State drive Toolbox while running optimizer. We have noticed you have the version: 3.3.5 of our software and in order to fix that specific error, you need to download the following version in this https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26085/Intel-Solid-State-Drive-Toolbox link.

Please try the latest version on the previous link, version is: 3.3.6 and let us know if it worked fine.

Hello!

I´ve tried Toolbox v. 3,3.6 with the same result. 3.3.6 reported that there was a Firmware Update so I downloaded and used SSD Firmware Updater issdfut_2.1.5.iso. When I booted the computer with the Updater DVD the Linux booting process halted befor it reached the Intel GUI. I tried the Updater DVD in another computer (without SSD) to exclude defects of the Updater DVD. It booted fine. The computer with the SSD 540s runs fine. The only problem is that I can´t optimize the SSD and update the SSD firmware. It has an Intel motherboard D915GAG.

Ingvar

Hello Amingu,

Thanks for replying back.

In order for you to run the firmware update, you can either use https://rufus.akeo.ie/downloads/rufus-2.10.exe Rufus*, http://www.pendrivelinux.com/downloads/YUMI/YUMI-2.0.2.7.exe Yumi* or http://www.pendrivelinux.com/downloads/Universal-USB-Installer/Universal-USB-Installer-1.9.6.6.exe Universal USB Installer* to properly burn the image, sometimes it is recommended to try all of them in case it does not work.

For the BIOS setup, please make sure the SATA mode is set to AHCI, the boot mode to Legacy only and fast and secure boot are disabled.

The firmware update will only boot in legacy mode, for your information.

If after that it does not work, please let us know.

Hello!

Both my problems are solved!

I. "Error: RAID array detected, if RAID array not present, reboot and try again" when I tried to optimize SSD 540s. I got this message first with Toolbox 3.3.5 then with Toolbox 3.3.6. After a not completed Firmware Update I reverted to Toolbox 3.3.5 and again tried to do a firmware update with the same bad result. After that I installed Toolbox 3.3.6 and surprisingly the optimization was successful!

II. The problem with SSD Firmware Updater issdfut_2.1.5.iso was that the Linux-based program stopped Before reaching the X GUI with the following console message:

Xinit: Connection to X server lost

Waiting for X server to shut down

Server terminated successfully (0). Closing logfile

INIT: Id "S0" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes

The last line was repeated every 5 minutes

Then I tried to run the program SSD Firmware Updater issdfut_2.1.5 on different computers and I got the same error from two old computers but on two with newer motherboards it was successful.

I connected the SSD to one of the newer computers and then the update was successful.

Ingvar
