P3700 SSDPE2MD800G401 - device not detected

Just got this brand new P3700 2TB 2.5inch drive part number SSDPE2MD800G401.

This is attached to server HP DL360 Gen9, RAID Controller card is P440ar using 8639 connector, the drive is connected to the raid controller port # 2.

Operating system is Windows 2012, somehow this drive is not being detected, doesn't come up as PCIDevice or Ven ID 8086 / DEV 0953. Tried installing latest drivers https://downloadcenter.intel.com/downloads/eula/23929/Intel-Solid-State-Drive-Data-Center-Family-for... Intel Windows NVMe driver 1.1.0.1004-x64.zip but no joy. Please help if someone has faced similar situation or any idea, does this require any BIOS settings to be tweaked?

Hello Jonathan,

I am solving the same in case of HP DL380 GEN9. In HP Quickspecs there are mentioned their own NVMe drives in the same capacities as yours and they are not requiring any additional controller.

Are these drives provided by Intel and customized by HP? Will they run properly in DL380 GEN9. I will also ask HP about it, but I wanted your reply as well.

Hello mailto:rudolf.sura@cdl.cz rudolf.sura@cdl.cz

You will need to check with HP* if they have their on drivers. Intel does have NVMe* drivers available here: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/23929 Intel® Solid-State Drive Data Center Family for PCIe Drivers

If you are using the Intel® SSD Data Center Tool, you will need the Intel® SSD NVMe* driver to function properly.
