Problem with updating firmware on Intel X25-M.

Hello.

Bougth my SSD back in 2009, and the current firmware is 2CV102G9.

Wanted to update to the newest firmware to check if I get better performance.

I downloaded the newest firmware, and put it on a DVD as an image file.

But it won't boot correctly from the DVD.

It just keep saying "Enter the full shell command line:" and i got no idea what to write.

For other users, it seems it just go directly into the firmware update process.

Kinda stuck here. I'm using a USB DVD since i don't have anything else available at the moment.

Probably doesn't matter, but my motherboard is: Gigabyte Technology Co Ltd - X58A-UD3R - Socket 1366

Any ideas?

Thanks

The new Intel SSD Toolbox 3.0 can update the firmware for X25-M SATA SSDs (34nm) to 2CV102M3. Check it out at: http://www.intel.com/go/ssdtoolbox/ http://www.intel.com/go/ssdtoolbox/.

Ok. Found the problem after some google searching.

The problem is USB CD Drive. For some reason the firmware updater won't load from that.

Solution: Use a SATA CD Drive or create an bootable USB Flash Drive.
