SSD Bench marking tool

I have been using SQLIO and IOMeter (Dynamo) to test P3700 cards, but all of them report latency in millisecond which is no good to baseline performance of P3700.

I do want to track latency in microsecond, is there any alternate Synthatic bench marking tool which can reports latency in microsecond accepting variety of IO parameters like Read/Write/Random/Sequential/Number of Threads/Outstanding IOPS/Different Block size etc?

Hello RomanthNirmal,

As you may know, the performance Specifications for the Intel® SSD DC P3700 Series are calculated using Iometer, since it allows the different test configurations required for this purpose.

The response time in this tool is expressed in ms (milliseconds) with 4 decimal digits (0.0001 ms), so you can actually see the results with the precision up to 0.1 microseconds.

We checked other common tools used to measure drive performance and could not find one showing the results directly in μs (microseconds), actually, only a few will show the difference of 0.0001 ms.

However, these results can be easily converted to μs (microseconds) considering the following:

1 ms = 1000 μs

1 μs = 0.001 ms

The advertised latency for the Intel® Solid-State Drive DC P3700 Series is the following:

Read Sequential/Random: 20/115 μs

Write Sequential/Random: 20/25 μs

* Please consider that there is an important performance difference when the Intel NVMe driver is installed.
