Hi,

I dont have a second pc to do the firmware update for my SSD.

I tryed multisetting

-AHCI-Legacy : On scanning SSD it stuck there for eternity

-AHCI-Native : It pass the scanning but when it start the firmware update it fail saying:

--Check if no password on SSD: indeed, no pwd

--Check to enable SMART: yes

--Look under go/support.. which I did and I didnt find any usefull help for my situation.

So I update bios, same result for the update...

Any idee what could cause the scanning to freeze? on AHCI legacy mode ?

My Laptop: Alienware M17x version1

What SATA controller/chipset is being utilized? Also, which drive are you attempting to update?
