Secure Erase and wear

How does Secure Erase (run from Intel SSD Toolbox) affect wear on 760p, 7600p series drives? Does it increase the wear at all, or is it purely a crypto-erase whereby encryption key is deleted and new one created without writing anything to the main data storage area at all?
