Hi,

I am trying to format my SSD using HDDERASE 3.3 or 4 and it just sits there. I am booting form CDROM using HIREN 11.0. I changed BIOS setup to IDE from AHCI. Please help. I am stuck.

You can try using SSD toolbox 2.0, Intel has included secure erase in this newer version

I got it done using Win7 CD. It is running. I have another question for you, DO you know any tool that can show my SDD and SATA 3 HDD data transfer rate ? Also how doI know if TRIM is working ?

No idea what tool can show ssd and sata3.. and don't know if there is a software that can specifically tell if trim is enabled

There is an approach to check if trim is working.. can make use of disk defragmenter ->configure schedule->select disk

check if the ssd is detected in the list, if it is not found in the list then it means it will not be defragmented, which means it is detected as SSD

and implicitly means that trim is enabled.

Another way is through the help of ssdtoolbox, it has an optimization option which is to enable trim.

maybe others got better input to share
