What is the difference between SSDPEKKF256G7X1 and SSDPEKKF256G7L?

Dear reader,

As the title points out: What is the difference between SSD model SSDPEKKF256G7X1 and SSDPEKKF256G7L? And what model type and specs are the last one, because that one is mounted in my Lenovo laptop.

Additional question, why can't I find ANYWHERE on both the sites of Intel and Lenovo the specs for tis modelnr.? Quite annoying, because Windows 10 upgrade version 1803 is having some major issues with Intel SSD models and probably blocked the machines which have those installed. My update is blocked and I suspect this SSD, so I need to know what modeltype my SSD is; 600p Series or Pro 6000p Series or...?

If Intel's official position is to install KB4100403 to resolve this issue then Intel has already vetted 17134.81. 17134.81 has an official hash that can be verified. All that is left is to provide this image.

nosirrahx,

Thank you for your reply and procedure. I agree this is a fairly specific and time consuming workaround. I cannot believe Microsoft and Intel can't work out an antomated version that fixes all at once.

Eugenio F.,

I guess the assignment to Intel in collaboration with Microsoft is very clear: devolop an automated update that fixes this issue. Preferably through Windows update. Keep in mind that there probably are thousands of people with these SSDs concerned who might not have been informed at all and don't see any upgrade in their Windows update center anymore because Microsoft blocked it.

Hello Master_Burn,

We understand that this known issue can make a fresh installation of the 1803 build difficult as the https://na01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https://internal.support.services.microsoft.com/e... KB4100403 is not yet integrated. We are working with Microsoft to include the latest updates into their ISO image. Until this time, the recommended method to update to version 1803 for affected users is defined https://na01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum... here.Best regards,Eugenio F.

Hi Eugenio F.

Any news on this matter?

I'll wait for the update including the fix to avoid any problems after upgrading to 1803 manually. As far as I know at this point the fix can only be obtained after one installes the corrupt upgrade probably resulting in major problems. So I rather wait for the automated upgrade including the fix. Besides your recommended manual update presented in the link you provided doesn't work. When I manually check for updates it comes up with nothing. I guess Microsoft blocked my machine from getting the update through the normal channel.

Pleas keep us posted how we should solve this matter without hassle.

OK, Andres V. answered my question in the other thread about this issue.
