Where do they get those early, unofficial versions? They must have a deal with someone at a mother board factory in China...

Why do you assume new will always be better? IRST 11.5 was new at one time, and now it is gone. IRST 11.6 and 11.7, when used on boards with enabled, add on SATA controllers, can't run the IRST UI. Then again, it does work fine with a certain OS...

IRST version 12... are meant for use with the new Intel 8 series chipsets, is that what you have?

no. my config = i7 3770k, Asus Maximus V Formula, G.Skill TridentX DDR3 Dual Channel kit (2x4GB modules) 2400MHz PC3-19200, NV680GTX

but I have four additional port SATA 6 Gb / s ASMedia ASM1061, If I use them - IRST not start - that's my problem and I want to solve it.... = use IRST 11.2.0.1006

Windows 7 Ultimate 64 is not able to properly execute Trim = only IRST can do it

In my case IRST UI crashed with enabled Marvell 88SE6121 controller with Silicon Image Sil5723 port multiplier in RAID0 mode and native MS Windows 7 x64 driver installed for it.

I have found solution as described here (installed Marvell RAID controller driver instead of MS Windows driver):

/message/177831# 177831 http://communities.intel.com/message/177831# 177831

/message/184089# 184089 http://communities.intel.com/message/184089# 184089

And now my working configuration is:

Hardware:

MB: Asus P5Q-E (BIOS version: 2101)

Storage controller: Intel ICH10R in RAID mode (IRST driver version: 11.7.0.1013)

Storage controller: Marvell 88SE6121 + Silicon Image Sil5723 port multiplier in JBOD mode (Marvell RAID driver version: 1.2.0.8400)

SSDs: 2 x Intel SSDSA2BW160G3 on ICH10R in RAID0 mode

HDDs: Seagate ST3320418AS, Seagate ST31000528AS, Seagate ST32000645NS, Seagate ST32000645NS on ICH10R in Non-RAID mode HDDs: Seagate ST32000645NS on Marvell 88SE6121 + Silicon Image Sil5723 port multiplier in JBOD mode

HDDs: Seagate ST31000528AS on Marvell 88SE6121 eSATA inside Sarotech HardBox 3.0 Combo W-31US3 Plus (hot plugged/unplugged periodically)

Software:

OS: MS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1 Russian

.NET Framework installed in GAC: 2.0 SP 2, 3.0 SP 2, 3.5 SP 1, 4.0 (Client & Full)

IRST: 11.7.0.1013

SSD Toolbox: 3.1.2

Marvell MSU: 1.2.0.1032

Silicon Image 57xx SteelVine: 5.1.24B

Try to install the latest driver (version 1.3.9.000 05.02.2013) for your ASMedia ASM1061 controller:

Or use driver version 1.3.4.000 27.03.2012 from ASUS support web site:

Mosc, thank you for the very detailed reply on this forum.

Figura, if you contine to run into trouble you might want to post this question on the Chipset forum: /community/tech/chipsets http://communities.intel.com/community/tech/chipsets where issues with the Intel® Rapid Storage technology are addressed.
