Hi

I wanted to upgrade my wifi card to get N speeds.

I'm under windows 7 (and linux) on a toshiba p100 laptop.

After changing the card, I installed latest intel 13.5.0 from here: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=3062&DwnldID=19860&ProductFamily=Wireless+Networking&ProductLine=Intel%C2%AE+WiFi+Products&ProductProduct=Intel%C2%AE+WiFi+Link+5300+and+Intel%C2%AE+WiFi+Link+5100+productseng http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=3062&DwnldID=19860&ProductFamily=Wireless+Networking&ProductLine=Intel%C2%AE+WiFi+Products&ProductProduct=Intel%C2%AE+WiFi+Link+5300+and+Intel%C2%AE+WiFi+Link+5100+productseng

It doesn't work. The driver says: this device cannot start (code 10)

What can I do?

When I boot on linux fedora14, the wifi works without installing anything. The log says it uses intel drivers for linux.

Thanks for your help.

Same issue with XP here. I`ve tried atleast a dozen drivers up to now with no success. Under Knoppix (live linux) works like a charm.

PS I got the adapter from an HP laptop, my is Dell Latitude D830. Do I have any chance of getting it to run under Windows?

I had a Dell Studio 1737 with the 5100 AGN Adapter and used the drivers from http://www.intel.com/support/detect.htm Intel® Driver Update Utility The adapter worked great with no issues. Here were http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/network-internet-wireless/f/3324/p/19332585/19697701.aspx# 19697701 My Intel WiFi 5100 AGN Connectivity Settings

It originally came with Vista 32-bit. I switched to Vista 64-bit, then later upgraded to Windows 7 64-bit.

Hi

I also tried intel driver update. It loaded the latest intel driver. But it just doesn't start.

So the settings are useless.

Is it a wifi card hardware revision problem?

How come it works under linux and not with intel drivers under windows?

This really means that the driver is faulty with this hardware revision.

I bought an intel wifi card thinking that it is better quality (hardware and software). I am now very disapointed.
