7260 AC - Bluetooth works sometimes - Help?

I am having issues with my 7260 AC adapter. The WiFi connection is great. When I install the Bluetooth drivers the Bluetooth worked fine but then if my computer goes to sleep, no Bluetooth option anymore. I can find it in the device manager but I have to show hidden items. There is an error code 45. If I reboot the Bluetooth usually comes back but not always on the first try. If the computes sleeps again the Bluetooth does disappears again. I have the most up to date drivers for both WiFi and Bluetooth.

  • Intel Pro-set 17.14
  • Wireless AC Driver 17.13.11.5
  • Bluetooth Driver 17.1.1411.504
  • I have also unchecked the option to "Allow computer to turn odd this device" for both the Bluetooth and Network Adapter.

This sucks since I just upgraded by card from the Centrino 2230 where the WiFi rarely worked but the Bluetooth was fine. Too bad I couldn't run both cards at the same time.

Hopefully Intel with provide some options as I doubt I am the only one with this issue. It looks like similar issues with WiFi and sleeping were resolved with driver 17.13 and as I said my WiFi has not been an issue only Bluetooth.

Hello own4ft,

1 - Which version of Windows* are you using?

2 - Where did you install the latest drivers from?

3 - We understand you replaced the original wireless card for the Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260, correct?

4 - Is this a laptop or a desktop?

The error 45 occurs when a device that was previously connected to the computer is no longer connected. To resolve this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer.

No resolution is necessary. This error code is only used to indicate the disconnected status of the device and does not require you to resolve it. The error code resolves automatically when you connect the associated device to the computer. We would like to suggest you to follow the link below and refer to error code 45 and then Error codes in Device Manager. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310123/en-us# 45 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310123/en-us# 45 - You may also refer to the article below:

  1. I am using Win 8.1/64
  2. I downloaded the drivers from the Intel website.
  3. Yes I replaced the original WiFi card (Centrino 2230) with the 7260 AC because the 2230 would not hold a WiFi connection for more than an hour.
  4. This is a laptop.

I understand that Code 45 shows the item is disconnected however it is clearly connected as WiFi is still working. I doubt I am to pull the WiFi card and reinsert it every time the PC comes out of sleep. Bluetooth works fine until the Laptop sleeps, then when I check device manager I get the Code 45. It doesn't make sense since the card has not been disconnected.

I have noticed the problem seems to be getting worse. Now often when I reboot the Bluetooth is not connecting at all where it was always connecting after a reboot, WiFi continues to work fine. When this happens if I reinstall the driver (actually select repair) when I reboot the Bluetooth is back until the Laptop awakes from sleep again. Alays when it doesnt work the error code 45 is displayed in Device Manager however obviously the device is connected.

Aleki, please help me with this extremely frustrating problem. If not where can I get my money back and a working WiFi card with Bluetooth?

Hello own4ft,

We understand your frustration. Please rest assured that we will do whatever is in our reach to help you with this issue. Now, it may be that the replaced adapter is not compatible with your system as the electrical specifications may have been changed by your computer manufacturer.

It is very important that you know that Intel does not support integrations and wireless hardware installation is subject to regulatory approval since these regulations are imposed by the government and the adapter purchased may not support you local regulations. Only your system manufacturer is entitled to provide the list of validated and certified adapters that are compatible with your system. so for more information, you may contact them directly. Furthermore, Intel® Wireless Adapters for laptops are meant to be professionally installed by the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) technicians on certified systems only. Check the links below for more information on this:

http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/cs-011644.htm http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/cs-011644.htm

On our best effort to help you, please clean uninstall all drivers related to all the adapters from device manager, previous and current. Once you have done this, make sure no file is left behind related to the adapters and then reinstall them from the link below if you have not yet done this way.

As an alternative, there have been reports from other customers claiming to have found a solution and/or workaround that resolve the issue. *Please understand that their solution may work for you and HAS NOT Intel approval and may even damage the card. For your convenience, you can take a look at what they have found here: - Remember that your best choice would be to contact your computer manufacturer and, if that is the case, the place of purchase for your money back.
