8265NGW 2.4GHz AP mode FCC

Hi,

I have question regarding Acess point mode on intel 8265NGW wifi module. Is the AP mode included in FCC certification? AND if so, is it certified only on 2.4GHz or also on 5GHz?

We want to use this wifi module in medcal device which we develope, but we don't want to undertake any aditional certifications, so it would be perfect, if AP mode was included in FCC.

Thank you,

Vaclav Kadlcek

Hi Antony, thanks for reply. We are developing video management system for operational room – based on PC with Linux.

We are using mITX motherboard with Core i3 and wifi module 8265NGW - mostly for wifi connection to hospital network.

But in unique cases, we want to use this module as AP point/hotspot to share internet on Operation room, since there is still a wired connection.

We know that hotspot on 5Ghz band is not supported by intel on Linux so we want at least 2.4Ghz access point mode.

Or do we need aditional certification for 8265 module since it is not very common type of usage of this module?

I'm not that interested in exact frequencies, they may vary by country to country. I'm more interested in type of usage of this module as Access point/hotspot – is this included also in its FCC?

Best regards, Vaclav K.
