AC-7260 crashing on 802.11AC network

So I am at a loss right now and looking for any help. I replaced the mini pci-e wifi/bluetooth card in my laptop with an Intel 7260AC about 6 months ago because i was having bluetooth issues with my old card on Windows 10. Since then i countinued to use my great Asus RT-N66U without issue (of course at 802.11N speeds). Yesterday the power button on the Asus RT-N66U gave out, so i decided it was time to upgrade to 802.11AC and went out and bought the top rated 1200AC router (T-LINK Archer C5). Got it all set up only to find that whenever I stressed the connection (downloading large files) the Intel 7260AC would disable itself and would not reenable without a system reboot. Looking in the system logs the Warning that jumps out at me is:

The network interface "Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260" has begun resetting. There will be a momentary disruption in network connectivity while the hardware resets.

Reason: The network driver requested that it be reset.

This network interface has reset 2 time(s) since it was last initialized.

So today i decided to swap out the T-LINK Archer C5 for an Asus RT-AC56U since i have loved the brand and of course the problem continued. I just went into the settings and disabled 802.11AC and i am running without issue in 802.11N now. Does anyone have some angle of attack for me on this one?

kqmaverick,

Before we go any further, we would like to inform you that Intel does not support integration which is when the original wireless adapter is replaced. You can learn more about this by accessing this link: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/network-and-i-o/wireless-networking/000005687.html?wa... Regulatory Information Regarding Hardware Installation or Upgrade

With that being said, we will do whatever is in our reach to assist you with this situation. Please let us know which driver version you currently have for this adapter.

Best regards,

kqmaverick,

Since you have the latest driver version installed, there are a few things you might consider. The Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 may not be fully compatible with your system. In this case, it is recommended to contact ASUS* for additional support. Note that only ASUS* can provide a list of wireless adapters that are right for the type of system your have. Through this link: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/topics/OEMs.html Computer Manufacturer Support Websites you may find the contact information for ASUS*

In the meantime, here are some online solutions that might improve your connection:

Regarding the original adapter, it is recommended to clean uninstall the Intel® Drivers before re-installing the drivers for the original adapter and test your connection to see if the issue remains.

Unfortunately, integration limits our support due to customization that the computer manufacturer may apply.

Best regards,

I was able to correct my issue by rolling back to the 17.15.0.5 drivers.

kqmaverick,

Thank you for letting us know that this situation has been resolved after rolling back the drivers.

We also would like to inform you that Intel has recently released a new generic driver version. For your convenience, here is the link to it: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/search?keyword=7260 Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 - Version 18.40.4 - Please note that the driver version for this adapter may vary.

It is important that if would like to try this version in the future, please consider your OS architecture (32 or 62 Bit).

Best regard,

Aleki
