Hello,
we are observing long roaming times while moving in our office.
- Usually it takes 2-8 seconds to roam to another access point.
- We did a site survey to make sure that there are no coverage holes.
- 802.11 r/k/v protocols are in use
- Latest Intel drivers installed - 23.50.0.6
- Tried to run "netsh trace" but I am not too familiar with its output. Screenshot attached.
We have already opened a support ticket to our wireless AP vendor and they have identified that during the issue client device (HP 840 G8) stops sending a traffic for a short time and then initiates a new connection instead of roaming.
"Netsh trace" and Ruckus wireless support answer is attached.

Hello kessvn,
Thank you for posting in Intel Communities.
Based on the SSU logs you shared, we recommend proceeding with the following action to help fix the issue:
- Get the latest system-specific driver from your computer manufacturer support (version 22.250.1.2).
- Uninstall the Wi-Fi driver.
- Go to Device Manager.
- Expand the Network Adapters category.
- Right-click your Intel Wireless Adapter and choose to uninstall it.
- Make sure that the option to Delete the driver software for this device is selected.
- Repeat steps A through D until the option to Delete the driver software for this device is greyed out.
- Driver installation.
- Locate the driver you downloaded back in Step 1 (first bullet above). Right-click the file you downloaded and select the option to Run as administrator. For additional information refer to the video above.
- Apply the Recommended Settings for 802.11ax Connectivity
Let us know how it went, and we will wait for your reply.
Best regards,
Jeanette C.

Hello,
I have uninstalled drivers provided by Intel and installed ones from HPE website.
Still having the same issue.
Additionaly we did a packet capture over-the-air pcap and on wired network.
What we have noticed that roaming procedure is successful and it happens in miliseconds.
The problem is that after successful roaming we can see multiple ARP requests/replies with our default gateway IP address.
At the moment we are investigating this ARP thing.
I will update this thread once I'll have more information.

Hello again,
I've noticed strange thing regarding this roaming issue.
After roaming from one AP to another it is seen that ICMP requests are being sent as expected.
After ~5 seconds all replies comes back at the same time. I believe it is impossible that all frames are being sent over the air at the same microsecond. Looks like that NIC somehow caches all these data frames and after some time it sends all of them in one go.
However broadcast traffic (DHCP, ARP) is not affected in this case.
Pcap has been done on windows 10 PC. Screenshot attached.

Hello,
We are also experiencing the same issue with the AX201 adapter. In our case, the problem occurs on the laptop of our lead worker and doesn't resolve on its own – he has to manually disconnect and reconnect to Wi-Fi. Additionally, we are facing frequent connection drops, and roaming is not functioning at all. This issue only affects this one device with the AX201 adapter; all other devices on the same network work fine. We likely only have this one laptop with the AX201 adapter in our network, so we can rule out any configuration issues at the network level. We are using MikroTik cAP ax APs. We would appreciate it if you could notify us when a solution is found.
Thank you!
