About 9260ac compatibility with TI wl1271

Hello, guys

I have some problems and ask for help.

When wl1271 is used as SoftAP, there is a problem when using Intel 9260ac / ax200 in Windows 10. The specific performance is that after the connection is successful, as long as the data is sent and received, the connection will be disconnected. But it works well under Linux system.

Hello jianhuilu,

Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities.

To better assist you, I would appreciate if you could provide the following information:

  • Please provide the steps to replicate this behavior.
  • Are you a developer? Are you working in a customer design?
  • Please provide the build of your operating system?
  • Did you manually integrated these wireless adapters?
  • Please provide the drivers version that you have tried.

Additionally, I would appreciate if you could provide more information about the part: wl1271 how it works, the purpose of the device in your configuration.

Thank you for your reply

  • Are you a developer?
I'm an employee of an equipment developer.

  • Are you working in a customer design?
    We design for our customers.

  • Please provide the build of your operating system?
    CPU: i3-2120
    RAM: 16GB
    Version: Windows 10 professional
    Version number: 1903
    OS version: 18362.836

  • Did you manually integrated these wireless adapters?
I bought 9260AC separately and installed it on my computer.

  • Please provide the drivers version that you have tried.
The current driver version of 9260ac is 21.120.2.1. I also try older then it, but I didn't notice what version it was.

Hello jianhuilu,

I would like to thank you for all the information provided.

Based on the design that you are doing and as this is an integration I would like to share with you the following:

As you may know performing wireless integrations is subject to country-specific legal regulations. Before installing or changing the Intel® Wireless Adapter, Intel recommends that you contact the system manufacturer to obtain approval, step-by-step instructions,support or compatibility information for both devices.

It is worth mentioning that the integration may or may not work due to the following reasons:

1. Hardware/software compatibility issues or dependencies.

2. Manufacturer limitations.

3. Driver limitations.

In case you would like to confirm that information please check the support article: Regulatory Information Regarding Wireless Hardware Installation or Upgrade

Additionally, you can try upgrading your operating system to version 1909 and test the latest drivers for the wireless adapters that you can find here:

Intel® Wireless-AC 9260

Intel® Wi-Fi 6 AX200

I would appreciate if you could provide the following report, along with screenshots or any error message related with the wireless adapter in Windows*:

Please run the following tool and attach the reports generated.

Intel® System Support Utility (Intel® SSU) Download link

1.       Open the application and click on "Scan" to see the system and device information.

2.      By default, Intel® SSU will take you to the "Summary View".

3.       Click on the menu where it says "Summary" to change to "Detailed View".

4.       To save your scan, click on "Next", then "Save".
