Trying to update the Bluetooth drivers

Downloaded the above file from intel site and every time I try to install it comes up with the message

C:\WINDOWS\Temp\xxxxxxxxxx\Intel Bluetooth.msi was not found.

Checked on to MS surface4 with the same issue.

Checked the temp folder the the msi file is missing

Hello PRogers2023,

Thanks for your response. Before I continue further, I would like to double-check this information:

1. Based on your report, you have the latest wireless drivers installed. Do you have any issues with the Bluetooth and/or Wi-Fi?

2. When you try the driver version from the laptop manufacturer, do you get the same error?

3. Can you take a picture of teh error that you mentioned in your post?

4. Have you made any changes to the BIOS?

5. Have you checked this issue with the laptop manufacturer?

Hello PRogers2023,

Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities. I want to understand what happened just as much as you do. To have a better view of this issue, I would like to confirm the following:

1. Is this the original adapter that came pre-installed on your computer or did you change/install the adapter to this one?

2. Is the issue present with both Intel and the manufacturer of the laptop drivers?

3. Is your laptop the Microsoft Surface 4?

4. What is the brand and model name of your wireless adapter?

5. What is the operating system installed as well as the version and build?

6. Was the issue present before?

Hi Deivid A.

1. Original adaptor in the surface and the 2nd tried no change in hardware we are just trying to update the driver from 12/06/2021 22.60.0.6 to latest due to BT issues noted in some software

2. Both laptops are MS Surface

3. Surface Laptop 4 AMD / Surface Laptop 4 AMD

4. Intel Corporation no other information available

5. MS Windows 10 Enterprise 10.0.19045 Build 19045 / MS Windows 11 Enterprise 11.22000.2295 Build 2295

5. No idea this is the fist time we have tried to update the driver.

The software download is straight from the website, run the install and the error message appears. check the folder the msi file is missing.

Hi Deivid A.

Thanks for the assistance.

The issue has been identified as administrator rights that are still limited by our IT staff.

The install package was putting a .msi file in temp but my admin rights did not allow this hence the install fails.

Hello PRogers2023,

Thanks for the confirmation. I am sorry to know that the IT staff limited the rights on your laptop and since this is the source of the issue, I will proceed to close this thread.

However, you can open a new one in case you need further support or if you face any issues with our products.

Hello PRogers2023,

In addition to my previous post, I recommend you to check this behavior with the IT support of the company to see if they can help you with the update or check if they can give the administrator rights to do it yourself.

Thanks for your time.
