Cant update AC-3165 Drivers. DPC Watchdog Violations Galore

Cannot update to newest drivers 20.50.0 because Windows 10 refuses to let me.

Just built a computer with a gigabyte ab350n motherboard that has an intel dual band 3165 wifi chip in it

I've come across the following errors (LOTS OF THEM)

The network interface "Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165" has begun resetting.

5007 - TX/CMD timeout (TfdQueue hanged)

Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 : The network adapter has returned an invalid value to the driver

As a result of these issues my computer has been plagued with the dpc_watchdog_violation. The computer literally JUST now restarted.

Any time I do anything related to downloading or streaming the computer stutters and I have issues.

Hello itikn,

Thanks for posting in our communities. We understand that you're experiencing issues to update your wireless adapter drivers to the latest version and the system is also showing dpc_watchdog_violation errors.

What is the exact issue you notice when attempting to update the driver? For now we recommend a clean driver installation using both the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and Intel generic driver:

If the issue persists, please provide us with the https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility-for-Windows-?product=91600 Intel® System Support Utility report and https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-update/bsod-finding-and-fixing-them/1939df35-283f-4830-a4dd-e95ee5d8669d minidumps for the dpc_watchdog_violation error.

So, I've run the assistant and it says im on the latest driver. But the driver page says the newest version is 20.50.0..or something like that. Meanwhile my driver is still in the 19 series.

This network card is causing an incessant number of issues.

Steps taken:

Downloaded from motherboard website

uninstalled device and reboot

uninstalled all drivers then ran the pros software from intel's site directly.

run three clean installs of windows

It doesn't matter what I do. System events is FILLED with errors related to this card. As a result, I have to now run a wired connection to the pc because the wireless is THAT unreliable.

Hello itikn,

Thanks for your reply and for taking the time to provide the requested minidump. The file itself doesn't point to the wireless driver as the root cause.

You've already gone through most of the recommended troubleshooting, specially reinstalling the operating system. We recommend to update your system BIOS. The latest version is F23d:

- https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-AB350N-Gaming-WIFI-rev-10# support-dl-bios GIGABYTE GA-AB350N-Gaming WIFI (rev. 1.0)* Downloads

EDIT: To clarify the driver version, there's a difference between the driver package and the driver for the adapter shown at device manager. The latest Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software version is 20.50.0. This package contains the drivers for all the current Intel Wireless adapters, but the latest driver version for Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 is 19.51.12.3.

Best regards,
