I'm trying to disable RSC on the wireless card and get the following error:

PS C:\Windows\system32> powershell Disable-NetAdapterRsc -Name Wi-Fi
Disable-NetAdapterRsc : Failed to set 'RSCIPv4' of 'RSC' configuration of adapter 'Wi-Fi'

+ Disable-NetAdapterRsc -Name Wi-Fi

+ CategoryInfo : InvalidOperation: (MSFT_NetAdapter...AF0080EDDE12}"):ROOT/StandardCi...rRscSettingData)
[Disable-NetAdapterRsc], CimException
+ FullyQualifiedErrorId : Windows System Error 50,Disable-NetAdapterRsc

Disable-NetAdapterRsc : Failed to set 'RSCIPv6' of 'RSC' configuration of adapter 'Wi-Fi'
At line:1 char:1
+ Disable-NetAdapterRsc -Name Wi-Fi
+ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
+ CategoryInfo : InvalidOperation: (MSFT_NetAdapter...AF0080EDDE12}"):ROOT/StandardCi...rRscSettingData)
[Disable-NetAdapterRsc], CimException
+ FullyQualifiedErrorId : Windows System Error 50,Disable-NetAdapterRsc

This has worked on every other computer we have except these two new ones with the above mentioned wifi card.

Thanks

Hello EricVan1

Thank you for reaching out. I understand you are experiencing errors when attempting to disable RSC on the Intel Wi-Fi 7 BE200 using Windows PowerShell. This issue appears to be specific to two new computers with this Wi-Fi Card, while it has worked on other systems.

Please generate an SSU report to help me further analyze important details on your system. To generate the SSU report, please refer to the article: How to get the Intel® System Support Utility Logs on Windows*. Please send us the generated SSU.txt file.

Please answer the following questions:

  • Are you running PowerShell with elevated privileges (as Administrator) when executing the Disable-NetAdapterRsc command?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you already done?
  • Are there any security software or firewall settings that might be interfering with the command?

We look forward for your response!

Best regards,

Hi RobbieR,

I hope this message finds you well.

I'm still facing the same issue with disabling Receive Side Coalescing (RSC) on my Wi-Fi adapter, and it remains unresolved. Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  1. Updated Adapter Driver: I attempted to update the network adapter driver, but the issue persists.

  2. Disabled RSC via Properties: I also disabled "Receive Side Coalescing" from the network adapter properties, yet I’m still encountering the same error when running the PowerShell command.

If you have any further suggestions or insights on how to resolve this, I would greatly appreciate your help!

Thank you!

You all make this as painful as possible to get any answers.  What is wrong with email or a phone call?  here is the response sent previously

Answers to your questions:
  1. Are you running PowerShell with elevated privileges (as Administrator) when executing the Disable-NetAdapterRsc command?
Yes all commands were executed as privliged

  1. What troubleshooting steps have you already done?

Speed test before and after VPN connection. Much faster before.  I support Architects who use large files, and transfer speeds impact profitability. Initial sped test was better than 400 MBS same test site reports less than 5 mbs after VPN.  Disconnect VPN and speed is restored.

Fortinet "free" client from our hardware firewall company Fortinet, has 0 support options.
Several posts on reddit sysadmin about RSC and disabling for faster VPN

  1. Are there any security software or firewall settings that might be interfering with the command?
We do not run local firewall, just the aforementioned Fortigate.

Thanks,
