Dual Band Wireless AC 3165 Continually Malfunctioning

I've had the same recurring issue since I bought a laptop with this wireless adapter about 18 months ago. The device randomly just malfunctions and will not find find any wireless networks. I have searched online and carried out all the suggested fixes and none of them solve the problem for more than 24 hours.

I have tired :

Uninstall the adapater in Dev Mgr & remove driver details

Unintall Proset drivers

Reinstall.

Still does not work. The only way I can (occasionally) get this is to work is by carrying out the above, but not installing the Proset drivers and allowing Windows to select a driver on its own.

I have tried unticking the box to allow Windows to turn the device off to save power and this has limited success. Sometime between the next shut-down restart or in the subsequent few restarts it will go wrong.

Sounds like this is a well known issue that has been going on for a long time and still no fix from Intel - have to say I am very disappointed.

Any advice here?

Many Thanks

Alex

AClay, Thank you for posting in the Intel® Communities Support and for providing the file. The wireless card, did it came installed in the laptop or did you purchase it separately? Are you using the laptop at home or at work? Do you have the option or have you tried to connect the laptop to different access points or wireless networks? We recommend to install the wireless driver provided by the manufacturer of the laptop, that driver was customized by them to work wit your specific platform, please try driver version 19.0.1.1: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/cr/en/products/LAPTOPS-AND-NETBOOKS/IDEAPAD-Y-SERIES-LAPTOPS/Y700-15ISK/80NV/downloads/DS105102 If the problem persists after that, then we can install the Intel® generic wireless driver version 20.100.0: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28358/Intel-PROSet-Wireless-Software-and-Drivers-for-Windows-10?product=89450 In the following link you will find the recommended settings for the wireless connection: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005585/network-and-i-o/wireless-networking.html Regards, Alberto R.
