Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265 Bluetooth Issues Windows 10

I have been unable to successfully maintain a bluetooth connection since installing this product in September of 2016. I have tried literally dozens of attempts of uninstalling and updating drivers to no avail. The device will work perfectly on its initial reinstallation but will fail on pc restart or reboot.

Here are some screenshots of the errors I am seeing and system report:

Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance -

Hello trdavidson,

Thanks for posting in our community.

For desktop computers, we offer the https://ark.intel.com/products/123742/Intel-Dual-Band-Wireless-AC-8265-Desktop-Kit Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265 Desktop Kit. However, this product was released on 2017. What's the exact model of the wireless adapter installed on the system?

Hello trdavidson,

Thanks for your reply.

Please make sure the USB cable on the adapter is properly connected to the motherboard's USB header as shown in the https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GC-WB867D-I-rev-10# support-manual User Manual. If available, please test different F-USB headers.

After checking the physical installation, please try reinstalling the driver one more time. We recommend a https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000022173/network-and-i-o/wireless-networking.html clean wireless driver installation using the https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GC-WB867D-I-rev-10# support-dl driver provided by the OEM.

If the issue persists, you may run a Windows* Registry Checker Tool (Scanreg.exe). However, please make sure you backup your registry beforehand:

Hi, Eugenio

Uninstalled Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and reinstalled with drivers from Gigabyte (thanks for the link). No joy even after having Windows update the Bluetooth drivers (again, Bluetooth worked perfectly until reboot). I then physically uninstalled the device and reinstalled it on a different PCI slot. On reboot, wifi works perfectly, but bluetooth no longer visible in Device manager and USB error has changed as shown (I am using a new replacement 9 pin connector in case the provided connector was faulty).

Have tried USB on all 3 available headers without success (headers work fine with front audio). Windows apparently no longer uses "Scanreg.exe" - now providing "System File Checker" tool (SFC.exe) linked here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/929833/use-the-system-file-checker-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/929833/use-the-system-file-checker-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system . When I ran it, no errors reported. Windows Bluetooth Troubleshooter reports no Bluetooth installed.

I will continue to explore other methods and will let you know what transpires.

Thanks for all -

My camera also functions normally on this header when charging/uploading photos.

Hello trdavidson,

Thanks for your reply.

Please try reinstalling the https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005559/network-and-i-o/wireless-networking.html latest Intel generic drivers. Make sure you install the Bluetooth driver first, then wireless. We would like to know if this reverts the Device error to Code 19.

Please let us know how it goes.

Best regards,

Thanks, but...

Can you be more specific about "generic drivers"? You lnk seems to take me to what I already have installed.

Currently running 20.40.0 for BT and 20.40.0 Proset for Wireless. No bluetooth device in Device Manager (including Hidden Devices). Have reinstalled mainboard current drivers, also. Have been installing/uninstalling/installing/etc. bluetooth for the past 5 hours in hopes that Windows will just give in and go with it.

Should I uninstall ALL drivers then reinstall BT standalone?

Thanks,

Terry

Uninstalled BT and Wi-Fi. Reinstalled BT only with installation disk provided by manufacturer - no joy. Code 43 remains - Device Descriptor Request Failed.

Hello trdavidson,

Thanks for your reply.

There another thread describing a very similar issue where the Bluetooth* adapter works fine after driver installation, but shows device error code 19 upon reboot: . It was solved by reinstalled the operating system and removing a driver from a previous installed wireless adapter.

At this point, we recommend to https://www.gigabyte.com/us/Support contact the adapter OEM for further assistance. Please let us know if there's anything else we can do for you.

Update:

I did a Windows Reset. No joy. Followed up with Windows Fresh Start. No joy. Still showing migration error.

Have installed a Broadcom Bluetooth 4.0 USB 2.0 dongle which is working without issue.
