Enable bluetooth to auto receive files from paired devices

I have intel centrino AC 8260 with bluetooth on windows 10 machine. I want to configure the device to auto accept all files sent via bluetooth from paired devices (or indeed any devices) as was possible in windows 7. Currently if I want to send a file from an already paired bluetooth device i have to first click the taskbar, right click bluetooth icon and select receive file on the receiving windows 10 PC, otherwise the sending fails. This is a real pain, especially when sending multiple files. Normally I would use ftp for this function but my current set up means I cannot have all my devices on the same network. Bluetooth works well apart from having to click receive every time on the receiving PC. Even if this requirement could be changed to once per session it would be an improvement. I have done some research on this and it seems that this functionality is controlled by the vendors driver software. More details here: https://www.tenforums.com/network-sharing/22152-enable-win-10-receive-bluetooth-files-without-confirmation-3.html https://www.tenforums.com/network-sharing/22152-enable-win-10-receive-bluetooth-files-without-confirmation-3.html

I have the latest bluetooth driver from here: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26944/Intel-Wireless-Bluetooth-Software-for-Windows-10 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26944/Intel-Wireless-Bluetooth-Software-for-Windows-10.

I didnt see a specific bluetooth forum so hopefully this is posted in the correct forum, apologies if not. Thanks for your time, any help, ideas, suggestions would be gratefully received.

Regards,

L

Hello withheld,

We understand you would like to transfer files to your computer via Bluetooth® from a trusted (paired) device without needing to acknowledge the transfer beforehand.

While you do need to have the correct drivers in place, file transfers are managed by the operating system, not by our software or drivers. In Windows® 10 it's not possible to perform these actions automatically. It's our understanding that Microsoft* stopped allowing automatic Bluetooth® transfers in order to close the security gap permitted by these actions. We're currently not aware of any method to override these changes.

However, you should not need to acknowledge each file individually.

Please try the new Bluetooth® driver that was released today, and let us know if you're still experiencing problems: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27123/Wireless-Intel-Wireless-Bluetooth-for-Windows-10 Intel® Wireless Bluetooth® for Windows® 10 version 19.80.0

Best regards,
