Hello, we are migrating from Windows XP to Windows 7 and i am trying to take the Intel PROSet/Wireless profile across with me... I have exported the profile from Windows XP, where we are on version 12.4.3.11.

I am following this tutorial to import the profile: http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/CS-031652.htm http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/CS-031652.htm

I get to the import stage, select my profile and then it prompts for the password. I always get the error message "Failed to Import the profile [name].p10" !!!

The password i use is correct as it is the one i used to export the profile from the old version. The version of PROSet we are using on W7 is 13.01.1000.

I would be grateful if anyone could help me out.

Thanks,

TM89

When moving from PROSet on XP to Windows 7 you need to know the following:

1. On Windows 7, download and install Intel® PROSet/Wireless Advanced Enterprise Software - learn more at http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/CS-031762.htm http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/CS-031762.htm

2. Review the differences between OS's at http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/CS-031772.htm http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/CS-031772.htm

3. Use the PROSet wireless profile Migration Tool to migrate profiles. Learn more at http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/CS-031775.htm http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/CS-031775.htm.

Intel® PROSet/Wireless Advanced Enterprise Software for Windows 7 can not import Windows XP profiles directly. You'll need to download the Migration Tool.
