I have a Lenovo X201 and try to unattended, within my MDT2010 deployment, install the Intel PROset wireless driver version 13.04.0000.

Sometimes it works, but mostly the installation is started but failed with an error 1603.

My system is Windows XP SP3 with all the latest MS patches installed.

When looking in the log file it mention the following line:

-- CA_WIFI_PromptIfFoundNewHWDlgPresent.

-- Found New Hardware Dialog Detected -- Driver may not get installed

-- CA_WIFI_PromptIfFoundNewHWDlgPresent. Returncode 3.

How can I solve this so that the installation always continues properly ?

It drive me nuts, i tried anything already...i guess.

I did some checks myself in the MSI using Orca:

Will the property MODE_WU=TRUE be a solution. This seems to skip this custom action. But does it harm when i skip it ?

Which wireless adapter do you have installed? Intel® PROSet/Wireless 13.0 is several years old and will not recognize newer hardware. You should try using the recently released version 15.1.1. You have 2 options for the files: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=21243 Consumer or http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=21245 IT Administrator. If you are trying to do silent or unattended install you'll need the IT Administrator version.
