I have a Comet Lake intel wireless and ever since I bought this laptop back in 2019 Bluetooth has not worked in Linux (any Linux). It works fine in Windows. I have done allot of troubleshooting trying to solve it and nothing has worked. HP doesn't support Linux so I get no support from them. Many people in the lInux community have tried to help but with no success. I have given up many times over the years to get this to work. I have changed kernels . I have tried many Linux OS's . I have modified several config files. Here is some info on my system: [demo@Manjaro ~]$ inxi -Farz System: Kernel: 6.6.50-2-MANJARO arch: x86_64 bits: 64 compiler: gcc v: 14.2.1 clocksource: tsc avail: acpi_pm parameters: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-6.6-x86_64 root=UUID=45ca132d-4a37-4dc3-afa0-be2e80d6a4a2 rw quiet udev.log_priority=3 libata.noacpi=1 iwlwifi.bt_coex_active=0 iwlwifi.power_save=0 Desktop: KDE Plasma v: 6.1.5 tk: Qt v: N/A info: frameworks v: 6.5.0 wm: kwin_x11 tools: xscreensaver,xscreensaver-systemd vt: 2 dm: SDDM Distro: Manjaro base: Arch Linux Machine: Type: Convertible System: HP product: HP Spectre x360 Convertible 15-df1xxx v: N/A serial: Chassis: type: 31 serial: Mobo: HP model: 863F v: 54.24 serial: part-nu: 7UT64UA#ABA uuid: UEFI: AMI v: F.32 date: 12/08/2023 Battery: ID-1: BAT0 charge: 53.8 Wh (100.0%) condition: 53.8/53.8 Wh (100.0%) volts: 12.7 min: 11.6 model: HP Primary type: Li-ion serial: status: full cycles: 250 Device-1: hid-0018:04F3:2992.0003-battery model: ELAN2514:00 04F3:2992 serial: N/A charge: N/A status: N/A CPU: Info: model: Intel Core i7-10510U bits: 64 type: MT MCP arch: Comet/Whiskey Lake note: check gen: core 10 level: v3 note: check built: 2018 process: Intel 14nm family: 6 model-id: 0x8E (142) stepping: 0xC (12) microcode: 0xFC Topology: cpus: 1x dies: 1 clusters: 4 cores: 4 threads: 8 tpc: 2 smt: enabled cache: L1: 256 KiB desc: d-4x32 KiB; Hi maybl8,

Thank you for posting in the Communities!

Please note that this is an OEM device, so I will try to assist you with general troubleshooting steps. However, if the issue persists, you will have to contact the Original Equipment Manufacturer of your device. Your device manufacturer may have altered features, incorporated customizations, or made other changes to some components for better compatibility with your system.

Please share more details with the issue you have encounter.

What steps do you take to reproduce your issue?

Were you able to have wireless connection in a normal/expected performance before?

Have you installed any recent software or hardware in your system?

Do you remember if this issue happened after a new OS update or Wireless driver update?

Have tried a roll back to a previous driver version for testing?

Best regards,

I appreciate you replying to my question. But your response is telling me you didn’t read my post.
HP will not help. That is why I reached out to you.
Do you have any information on getting this card to work with Linux and Bluetooth.
I’ve been trying since 2019 and no distro works.
I have abandoned trying to make it work and purchased a Bluetooth usb.
Thanks for your help.

Hi maybl8,

Thank you for providing the initial information. To further investigate the issue, we need some additional details that weren't included in the initial dump. Could you please share the output of the following commands?

  1. hostnamectl
  2. hciconfig -a
  3. lsusb | grep 8087
  4. modinfo btintel
  5. #dmesg > dmesg.log

Additionally, just to clarify, does the laptop's WIFI work in Linux and is the issue only with Bluetooth?

Best regards,
