Help with 6235 installation on a dell inspiron e1705/9400 laptop

I have a Dell Inspiron E1705 running windows 7 64 bit. I am attempting to upgrade the internal wireless adaptor with an Intel Centrino Advanced N 6235 card. After installing the card and loading the latest Intel drivers, the card cannot find any wireless signals. I get "no connections available".

The device manager says the card is installed properly and operating properly however I get zero connections available.

I realize it is probably a driver issue, but I have no idea what to do other than using the Intel drivers.

Any help would be appreciated.

On regards to your question, please note that the Intel® Centrino® Advanced-N 6235 wireless adapter is meant to be professionally installed by Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) technicians on certified systems only.

Please also note that these adapters are not meant to be sold separately, your system must be compliant with the required FCC certifications in compliance with the International Special Committee for Radio Interference standards for radiated and conducted electromagnetic interference.

In this case what we recommend and encourage you to first contact the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) to determine if the product is approved for use in your computer.

Dear persons, TO WHOM THIS MAY CONCERN,

It does matter how you connect the physical wires

First disable windows update from automatically installing software drivers.

Go to device manager under network adapters select and right click on "Intel(R) Centrino(R) Advanced-N 6235"

Make sure the device is enabled and working properly, if so more than likely you have the wrong set of drivers installed. If this be the case, under device manager "right click" on your card which appears under the category network adapters, "click uninstall"

Once this process is complete restart, and use ethernet port for "internet access" temporarily this enables you to download and install proper drivers from a trusted site.

Scan file with anti-virus protection program before opening file, downloading anything from the web is risky just be careful.

Open file and let the MAGIC happen

Upon completion Restart computer

Also remember to uninstall any unused, or no longer need programs or software applications affiliated with your old card as this may cause conflict.
