How to publish Wi-Fi Aware compliant information?

Background:

Question:

How does a (systems) programmer specify the information these Wi-Fi devices are to publish, in conformance with the Wi-Fi Aware standards, so that a nearby client can detect their presence, any services available on their hosts, and respond in a way appropriate for establishing a connection (e.g., by initiating a Wi-Fi Direct Connection request)?

Let's focus, for the moment, on the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260

Intel has obtained certification for Wi-Fi Aware for that product (see Intel-1.png attached)

Separately, Intel has obtained certification for Wi-Fi Direct for that product (see Intel-2.png attached)

Intel provides drivers for Windows (at least for version 10) that expose those capabilities to the operating system and are recognized as being there (e.g., responses to the shell command "C:\> netsh wlan show wirelesscap"

The use case for these Wi-Fi Direct capabilities is this: where there are two sufficiently capable machines within close proximity (the range of a single radio), one machine can be advertising that it is there, and the other machine is able to discover that the one machine is there. Using Windows 10, I have programmed an application that exploits that/those capability(ies) and then makes a connection between the two machines to to perform a desired set of transfers/functions.

HOWEVER, I can find no documentation of how to accomplish something similar using the Wi-Fi Aware capabilities Intel says the 7260 product has. Wi-Fi Aware standard says it has an publishing (advertisement) capability and a discovery capability for the same use case.

Are there two things or are there one? And if there are two, how does one use the second?
