I am looking for way to analyze if the DSCP mark that I did in Windows 7 GPO, it is rigth mark as WMM. I am using Wireshark with a NDIS driver made by Acrylic Wifi scanner. It comes with no mark at 802.11 packet. The capture is being done usign NDIS driver to work in promiscuos mode in Windows 7.

Any ideas?

Hello Claudio.Rosa.

With Intel® PRO/Wireless Software and Intel wireless network adapters, http://www.wi-fi.org/discover-wi-fi/wi-fi-certified-wmm-programs WMM* (Wi-Fi Multimedia) is enabled by negotiation with a WMM capable wireless access point. No special configuration in the adapter is necessary for WMM support.

WMM is a Wi-Fi Alliance Quality of Service (QoS) enhancement to allow for priority use of bandwidth by audio, video, and voice applications. WMM support is automatically enabled on the Intel® PRO/Wireless Software. In order to use WMM in your wireless network, this configuration has to be enabled in the Access Point.

In the http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/CS-025393.htm Advanced Wi-Fi Adapter Settings you can find "Ad hoc QoS mode". An ad hoc Wi-Fi network (also known as a peer-to-peer network) is a temporary network used when an access point (AP) or broadband Wi-Fi router is not available. It allows users to wirelessly connect directly to each other. When WMM is enabled in the Ad hoc QoS mode, the adapter uses WMM to support priority tagging and queuing capabilities for Ad hoc Wi-Fi networks.

Thank you by your quick answer.

I am trying to do a double-check with the wireshark, but I am only seeing a null value. Could you help me?

Just to complemente, the DSCP is ok when a look at wireshark capture in the Layer 3 (IP)
